<description>The best time of the year. BCS vs Playoff talks become the hot topic each year because the BCS has yet to crown a real champion since this system started. Playoffs can create a even bigger problem. Who gets to go to the playoffs? The best ranked teams or the just the conference winners and maybe two other teams with the best record? My solution is to take the conference winners in the 6 big conferences: ACC, SEC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, Big East, and the next best two teams for a 8 team playoff system. The team with the best record or best rank would be seated 1 and so on. The teams would play for there spot in the BCS Bowl games. An Example would be 1. ACC vs 8. team, 2.SEC vs 7.Team, 3 Big10 vs 6.Pac-10, 4.Big 12 vs 5.Big East in the first round. Then in the second round 1 vs 6 and 2vs 5. The winner of these games goes to the national championship bowl game on Jan. 3rd. The Losers of this game play in the 2nd best bowl game. Example: 1 vs 2 in Bowl Championship game that might be the Rose Bowl that year. 5 vs 6 in Fiesta Bowl and then 4 vs 7 in Sugar Bowl and finally 3 vs 8 in Orange bowl. The rest of the bowl games will be determined like they are now. This scenario insures the money for these colleges and creates more ratings and advertising money for the networks. The 8 teams are only playing two extra weeks of football instead of waiting a month to play in the system of the BCS bowl games.
